ARTIST STATEMENT:
Traveling through different states of the mind with my Blue plastic camera. I travel through parallel worlds and weave them together, the real and the imagined. I explore memories, perceptions and dreams, how they form, sometimes fuse, break and alter with time. Analog photography is the medium I work with, using a 35mm plastic camera with minimal setting options, results in low-fidelity aesthetic, forming unpredictable visuals, embodied with extra dimensions and complexions. Unfolding layers of reality, obscured emotions and hidden narratives that often elude our conscious awareness, as the decaying and protective nature of the memory compels us to forget. In my work I seed to shed light on the malleability of the mind; how it often manipulates us, and how experience and environment shape our thoughts and feelings, while our memories form new narratives over time, blurring the line between reality and our imagination. I never liked being bound to one single state, a certain world, memory or a decision. In my dreams, all different possibilities happen simultaneously. I use experimental techniques as means to express an alternative world, with no linear time, nor geographical boundaries. A world in which sometimes all moments happen at once, clash, compliment and complete each other. Memories and dreams fuse into one, some parts last, while others are missing. There are many truths and also manipulations, all colliding for an instance into one, to a moment that happened and didn’t happen and will never return.
